Prayer for Veterans Day
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”—John 15:13 (NIV)
And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”—Habakkuk 2:2-3 (ESV)
WHAT DO YOU want to be? Just picture it, and put it into God’s hands. Be willing to give yourself, and there will be new life for you in this New Year. Perhaps you want to make a decision like that right now. In this moment focus on a new beginning. Begin it with God.
Our Heavenly Father, if anyone wants to be a better person but is weak, give him new strength. If anyone suffers from sorrow and heartache, may he feel great comfort. If anyone is lost and doesn’t know what to do, send the light of Your truth into his mind.
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”—John 15:13 (NIV)
I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws. I hold fast to your statutes, Lord; do not let me be put to shame. I run in the path of your commands, for you have broadened my understanding.—Psalm 119:30–32 (NIV)
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.—Psalm 1:3 (KJV)
