A Lesson in Abundance
All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.—Luke 21:4 (NIV)
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”—JOHN 8:12 NASB
It is dark and dreary outside—and it seems that way inside, too. Everything feels cold and uncomfortable. It’s hard just to get out of bed, let alone muster the energy to provide the care that God has called us to give.
But there is a bright light on the horizon! Jesus Christ, the Son, shines every day, regardless of the weather in our soul. Nothing can stop Him from shining—and He is waiting for us to come and bask in His light.
Jesus will brighten each day and give us the strength and energy to do His will. He will shine on us every minute, if only we’ll ask Him to, and He can make what seems gloomy bright and full of His presence.
The Lord’s light will shine in the darkness and cheer every corner of our world. The Son is shining in our lives today, with a light that gives us the courage and strength to any circumstance.
Thank You so much, Lord, that You are the spiritual Sun in my life—and You are there for me every single day. I praise Your holy name!

All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.—Luke 21:4 (NIV)

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.—James 1:17 (NIV)

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.—Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)
