The Quiet Life
Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.—1 Thessalonians 4:11 (NLT)
The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field, the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.—Psalm 103:15-16 NIV
The Bible reminds us that our days on earth are, like grass, finite. Yet, if we spend our time wisely and faithfully there is a future life beyond this one, with God. Theologian John Piper said, “Life is short. Eternity is long. Live like it.” In the busyness of life it’s easy to forget that time is precious.
Heavenly Father, guide me to live each day for Your glory.

When Job’s three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him.—Job 2:11 (NIV)
Ears that hear and eyes that see—the Lord has made them both.—Proverbs 20:12 (NIV)
