Things that really matter
are the things that gold can't buy,
so let's have another cup o' coffee
and let's have another piece o' pie.

One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.

When I write of hunger, I am really writing about love and the hunger for it, and warmth and the love of it and it is all one.

It’s difficult to think anything but pleasant thoughts while eating a home-grown tomato.

This magical, marvelous food on our plate, this sustenance we absorb has a story to tell.

In my food world, there is no fear or guilt, only joy and balance.

There’s a communion of more than our bodies when bread is broken and wine drunk.

Let today be the day…you pay attention to what you feed your mind, your body, and your life.

Cooking is at once child’s play and adult joy. And cooking done with care is an act of love.

We must have a pie. Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie.

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.
