In Jesus’ Name

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.—John 14:13–14 (NIV)
When you pray in Jesus’ name, center your awareness on Him. Ask Him to help you align your will with His. Shape your petition so that you are genuinely praying in His name for His glory.

Bold in Faith

Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.—Mark 15:43 (NIV)
While other disciples remained quiet, Joseph of Arimathea declared his love for Jesus. He boldly stepped out of the shadows and aligned himself with Jesus. He did not let fear or doubt paralyze him. When you need the courage to move forward, trust God is with you, helping you make the first step.
Dear Lord, I can always act with courage because I know that the consequences are in Your hands.

Improve Your Mood

Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.—Hebrews 12:15 (KJV)
In Isaiah, when Hezekiah was consumed with bitterness, he called out to God and his bitterness was exchanged for wholeness. When you are battling a bad mood, ask the Lord to give you the strength to let go of your hostility. Pray for Him to make you whole.
Dear God, when I am overcome with bitterness, fill me with the wholeness of Your grace.

Hold on to Heavenly Thoughts

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.—Colossians 3:2 (NIV)
When you loosen your grasp on the outcomes in life and trust there is nothing that God cannot handle, you let go of your worries and let God flow in. He is your ever-present help. When life feels heavy and difficult, look up.
Lord, I will set my mind on things above and not let earthly things get me down. Fill my mind with heavenly thoughts!

A Cup of Cold Water

And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.—Matthew 10:42 (NIV)
What may seem like little or insignificant gifts to others in need become powerful blessings, holy gifts, when given to honor Jesus. What small or large act of kindness can you do today to bless others as you serve the Lord?

Give Your Worries to God

Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes?—Matthew 6:25 (NIV)
Is the cloak of fear affecting your faith? Do you worry about big things and little things, what-ifs and what has already happened? In the above verse, Jesus tells us not to worry. Instead, put all your trust in Him.
Dear God, I give You my worry list so that You may give me Your peace.
