Blessed Moments of Rest
So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.—Hebrews 4:9–10 (ESV)
So Gideon said to God, “If You will save Israel by my hand as You have said—look, I shall put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor; if there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that You will save Israel by my hand, as You have said.”—Judges 6:36-37 (NKJV)
How can we be sure of God’s will? Seldom do we receive signs as clear as Gideon’s wet fleeces, but given time and patience, we can receive guidance from the small voice that prompts all who listen. If you have a difficult decision, petition God for help.
Help me wait patiently, Lord, when problems appear and ready answers aren’t available.
