Surrender to Humility
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.—James 4:10 (NIV)
But godliness with contentment is great gain.—1 Timothy 6:6 (NIV)
Contentment has nothing to do with what you own, the number on your bathroom scale, or a goal being reached. Contentment is all about your relationship with God. When you know Him deeply, you recognize that true peace, purpose and joy are the fruit of your faith.
Heavenly Father, when I fall into the trap of thinking, “I’d only be happy if…” guide me towards prayer and recognizing that contentment lies in You.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.—James 4:10 (NIV)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.—Galatians 5:22–23 (NIV)

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.—1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)
