God Chooses You
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.—1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)
“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”—Mark 9:23–24 (NLT)
The man in the above verse trusted Jesus enough to admit that he wrestled with doubts, even though he believed in Jesus’ healing power. He asked Jesus to strengthen his faith. Like this man, your faith will not always be perfect. Jesus understands your weaknesses. He invites you to share your doubts and ask for help to overcome them.
Heavenly Father, when I have trouble believing Your promises, help me overcome my unbelief.
