Eat! To God’s Glory
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.—1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)
I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.—PHILEMON 1:6 NIV
Did you know that you are a blessing? Fellowshipping and ministering to another person’s needs blesses them. You are displaying your testimony of faith, serving God by serving people. That’s true whether you feel it or not.
In Matthew 22, the Pharisees—in a bid to trick Jesus—demanded that He reveal the greatest commandment in the law. Jesus responded by saying that the greatest commandment is to love the Lord God with all one’s heart, soul, and mind. Then He added this statement: “And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:39–40 NIV).
The very definition of caregiving is considering the concerns of another. As you choose to let the Holy Spirit guide you in carrying out your obligations, you are following Jesus’ words. Your actions are a way to share your faith in God’s promises.
Take joy in knowing that your actions are stepping-stones leading toward God’s throne. Through your obedience, you allow God to bless you—and, in turn, you become a blessing to others.
Dear Father, I thank You for first loving me. Please let my life reflect Your love.
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.—1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)
And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.”—Habakkuk 2:2 (ESV)
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.—Philippians 3:13 (NIV)
