The Boundless Sea
Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb.—Job 38:8 (ESV)
Blessed are the people of whom this is true; blessed are the people whose God is the Lord.—PSALM 144:15 NIV
There are days in the life of every caregiver where you simply feel “given” out. It’s hard to find the blessing, particularly if the person you’re caring for doesn’t seem to be improving or if you’re feeling exhausted or consumed by the task at hand.
But take heart! If you’ve made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, you are blessed. He is your God, your King. He’s invited you to share your burdens, to climb in His lap and rest your weary head on His shoulder. What a blessing to know that your heavenly Father cares enough to carry the load for you.
The next time you’re struggling to find the blessing amid the exhaustion or pain, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Repeat these words: “I am blessed! I am blessed!” Remember… you are His and He is yours. God will give you the strength to carry on, and He will cause joy to rise up in you as you focus on caring for others.
Heavenly Father, I thank You that I’m a child of the Most High God. Remind me daily just how blessed I am— especially when I don’t feel like it!
Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb.—Job 38:8 (ESV)
Hezekiah had very great wealth and honor, and he made treasuries for his silver and gold and for his precious stones, spices, shields and all kinds of valuables.—2 Chronicles 32:27 (NIV)
Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will
eat; or about your body, what you will wear.”—Luke 12:22 (NIV)
