God Stands with You
No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.—Joshua 1:5 (ESV)
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.—MATTHEW 11:28 (NIV)
I escaped to my front porch rocker for some time alone and to reflect on the day’s activities. Today my mother had a cancer treatment at one hospital, while my husband had to see a specialist in a different building. I had struggled with the logistics of being at both places at the correct time. Tonight I was weary of the constant maneuvering required to meet their needs.
God this isn’t working so well. I’m losing me.
I continued to rock, and after several minutes, I realized that my muscles had relaxed and my stress seemed to slip away.
In those quiet moments, God taught me that communion with Him would carry me. He knew when stress robbed my sleep, when frustrations filled me, and when my spirit was weak. I realized that it was important to schedule some time for myself. I opened my planner, searched for an open day and wrote my name. An appointment to have coffee with a friend, a pedicure, or just taking a long walk would refresh me even as I continued to care for my loved ones.
Dear God, remind me that I am important to You, and help me carve out moments when I can be strengthened.

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.—Joshua 1:5 (ESV)

Dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!—Jude 1:20–21 (MSG)

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.—Psalm 37:23 (NLT)
