As a young child, I thought playing dominos meant standing the little black rectangles on end, then tapping the last one and watching them fall one by one against each other.
Quite boring, I thought, especially having to stand them all up again once they’d been knocked over.
But as I grew older, I learned the real game of dominos. Matching up the numbers of one pile to the numbers of the other players’ dominos. Without one piece, you can’t move on to the next.
Do you know that loving a teen unconditionally might lead to impacting millions of lost souls? It’s a domino effect. Once you share your unconditional love and faith to one teen, they’ll learn to love others unconditionally and so on and so on.
Before you know it, you will have impacted so many lives. So pick up your dominoes and start moving because you have been called to change the lives of others.
1. You are never too old to make a difference in a teen’s life. Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days. (Job 12:12, ESV)
2. Be part of her life and love her with unconditional love. The easiest way to talk and influence your teen daughter’s life is to understand her interests and get involved with her life.
Be available to share and celebrate her victories, and be there for her when she loses. This will teach her trust and unconditional love.
3. Be her role model. Don’t underestimate your influence in her life. It’s valuable. Your honesty and integrity will carry on through her life.
4. Make a difference by sharing your faith with the younger generation. They need you in their lives.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)
