Next time you are tempted to speak harshly against another, stop for a moment. Is the problem as serious as you’re making it? Will your words improve the situation and lead to a solution, or only show your anger? Whatever you say, be compassionate and caring. Set your mind on mending the relationship.
Keep me, God, from stirring up anger. Help me to use words that comfort and heal.
