The Courage to Move Forward
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.—PSALM 34:7 (NIV)
When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches, for You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.—PSALM 63:6–8 NASB
Worry. All too often, it robs us of precious sleep. The future is uncertain. Finances trouble us, especially when those
big, unexpected costs pop up. Sometimes it’s hard to release our troubles to the Lord. It’s hard just to relax.
If you find you can’t sleep, make good use of that wakeful time in the night hours—talk to God about your fears. He hears every prayer of His needy children, and He fills them with His peace.
Sometimes it helps to write our problems on paper and set them aside to deal with in the morning. God may surprise us with creative ideas while we sleep, showing us His divine way to handle our concerns.
Worried chicks, fearful of the world around them, run to their mother hens, who lift their wings to protect their little ones. In the same way, God invites us to hide under His wings. There we find shelter and joy, knowing that we’re never alone. God is the ultimate Caregiver, both for us and for the ones we love.
Thank You, Lord, for helping me release my burdens and trust You for the outcome. Help me to get a good night’s sleep so that I feel strong and well during the day.

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”—Mark 11:23 (NIV)

“Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.”—1 Samuel 3:9 (NLT)
