Laughing at the Impossible
So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?”—Genesis 18:12 (NIV)
Sarah was ninety when she became a mother! Of course, she had doubted God’s promise would ever be fulfilled and yet when she held her baby in her arms, she was filled with joy. The name Isaac even means laughter. Sometimes God’s promises take us through hard times of doubt, grief, sarcasm—and ultimately elation.
Maker of Miracles, there is nothing You cannot do! Because of You, life is filled with wonder!
