The Freedom of the Spirit
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.—2 Corinthians 3:17 (NIV)
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.—Philippians 2:3-4 (NIV)
Insecurities can lead a person to hold on too tightly—to relationships, jobs and possessions. Worrying over a loss robs you of enjoying the moment and can make you selfish and possessive. God intended for us to have a full life, one that is not full of fear and need—but one that is filled with His pure love.
Heavenly Father, I come to You with an open heart. Heal my vulnerable places so that I am secure and complete.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.—2 Corinthians 3:17 (NIV)
So may all your enemies perish, Lord! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength.—Judges 5:31 (NIV)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.—Ephesians 2:8–9 (NIV)
