The Final Word

Jesus has the last word on everything and everyone, from angels to armies. He’s standing right alongside God, and what he says goes.—1 Peter 3:19-22 (MSG)

If you are up against something that seems insurmountable, know that Jesus has the final word. Man can make plans, but the Lord’s word endures forever! He can fill you with the grace to accept whatever you are going through. He has the final say.

Heavenly Father, I know that You can override whatever dark thoughts or worries I have about the future. Thank You for strengthening my faith to trust Your healing power.

Be Bold for Others

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.—Acts 4:31 (NIV)

If you feel overwhelmed by the problems that others face—in your own family, your neighborhood, or the world—pray. Ask God to show you where you are most needed and offer your time, energy and prayers to the cause.

Heavenly Father, make me bold in service for You.

Life’s Curves

Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.—Psalm 27:11 (KJV)

Have you ever reflected on your life journey and felt like you’ve backtracked? Perhaps an unexpected detour, in hindsight, feels like wasted time, or a distraction led you to believe you got lost on the path. The good news is that when you follow God, even in times when life’s turns don’t make sense, you can trust that you are on the right road.

Heavenly Father, I have faith that I am always on a straight path when I stay close to You.

Sing God’s Goodness

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines…—Habakkuk 3:17 (NIV)

Are you looking to boost your mood? When you lift your mind with words of praise for God, your spirits will lift and you will realize that no matter what you are going through, there are many blessings to be grateful for.

Dear God, I celebrate You, my wonderful God. You bring so much joy to my life, that even when disappointments arise, I can always find happiness because You are in my life.

The Pearl of Great Price

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”—Matthew 13:45-46 (NIV)

Jesus used a precious pearl to symbolize the value of God’s Kingdom. In the parable The Pearl of Great Price, Jesus compares the journey of heaven to a merchant searching for fine pearls and selling everything he had to buy them. Are you giving your all to follow Jesus?

Heavenly Father, I long to live a worthy life and I’m hopeful that one day I will walk through the “pearly gates”!

The Power of Patience

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.—Romans 12:12 (NIV)

Patience is a fruit of the Spirit, yet periods of waiting have a way of testing your faith. In stressful times, when nothing seems to be going right, it’s important to be mindful that God is in control. He will give you the desires of your heart in His time.

Maker of Time, help me fight fear and impatience with trust.

Be the Light

There are six things the Lord hates…. and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.—Proverbs 6:16, 19 (NIV)

Some people seem focused on being negative—being a bad influence, gossiping or judging others. Rather than delving into darkness and conflict be a gentle guide to show another the Light.

Heavenly Father, guide me to see the positive in others, to mend relationships and build strong and loving friendships.

How Big Is Your Life

“Everything is possible for one who believes.”—Mark 9:23 (NIV)

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale said, “How you live your life is directly proportional to how greatly you believe. Believe little, and you will have a little life. If your belief is weak, you will get a weak life. If your faith is fear-based, you will live a life of fear. But when you believe big, you get a big life!”

Almighty God, God of possibilities, I believe Your plans surpass my deepest dreams.

Thank Heaven, Love Is Everlasting

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”—John 11:25-26 (NIV)

This verse is a comforting reminder for those that have loved ones in heaven—those who die in the Lord live with Him, and so they live with us as He does. Christianity has tremendous power; the resurrection of life over all defeat, over death itself.

Our Heavenly Father, thank You for this great truth that life and love are everlasting.

Leap Toward Blessings

Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’—Luke 19:20-21 (NIV)

In the above parable, one of the servants was afraid to take a risk. He let insecurity and fear of failure guide his actions. The next time an opportunity comes your way instead of hesitating because of doubts, trust that it will all work perfectly.

Dear Lord, guide me to trust and leap toward blessings that come my way.

Break the Routine

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?—Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)

God wants you to fully experience the world, to notice and enjoy His wonders of creation. When you break out of your daily routine and make an effort to try something new, you gain a fresh perspective, see new possibilities and discover amazing things!

Dear Lord, today I will seek out the unfamiliar and embrace new experiences.

Pray for an Unfailing Faith

“Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail.”—Luke 22:31-32 (NKJV)

This verse is a reminder of how life can sift or shake you until you feel as if your world is falling apart. Scripture reminds us that when you are at your lowest Jesus is by your side, walking with you, praying for you and guiding you.

Lord Jesus, thank You for defending me and praying for me. Because of You my faith will not fail.
