Achieve Balance, Reap Blessings

I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.—John 5:30 (ESV)

As this month comes to a close, congratulate yourself on finding balance and strength in God’s Word. The more you come to Him with your challenges, the greater your relationship with Him becomes.

Lord God, because of You harmony is now a clear and present part of my life. The gift of Your love guides, comforts and supports me.

Graceful Moments

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.—Hebrews 4:16 (ESV)

In Scripture, the Apostles begin and end their letters to the churches by praying for the Lord to give them grace. Adopt this practice in your life. Recognize that you need His grace to survive and thrive in the world. His grace fuels the power to change.

Heavenly Father, I have never been so blessed as when I feel Your grace shine on me.

The Power of Divine Order

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.—Philippians 4:11 (NIV)

Are you looking for more order in your life? The beautiful thing about a strong faith is that it helps you tap into divine order, and once you have divine order in your heart, you cultivate it in your life. Chaos, clutter and everything else that gets in the way of your path falls away.

Heavenly Father, I invite Your divine order into my life and trust that You will help me create chaos-free tomorrows.

Jesus Is Your Joy

Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test.—2 Corinthians 13:5 (NIV)

The Apostle Paul wasn’t speaking metaphorically in the above verse. He meant it. Christ Jesus is in you. Today, make a point to think of every wonderful thing the Lord has done for you. Celebrate that He is always with you. His joy flows through you.

Lord Jesus, You are my Joy.

All In God’s Time

A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.—Psalm 90:4 (NIV)

God controls life’s pace. The secret to managing your time is to abide in God and focus on spending time with Him. As Moses said, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” When you put God first, you will always be on time, now and forever.

Dear Lord, I see You first in all that I do.

Seeing God’s Signs

“If I’ve gained Your approval, please show me a sign that it’s really You speaking with me.”—Judges 6:17 (CEB)

The Bible is filled with God’s messages and signs of reassurance. By reading His Word, you open yourself to having Scripture speak to your heart, confirming that He is always with you. Your faith will help you discern God’s hand at work in your life and in the world.

Father God, I know You are here with me. Let me feel Your presence.

All-Knowing God

Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.—Psalm 147:5 (NIV)

God has the unique and amazing ability to know and understand everything. When you are up against a challenge and feel alone with your problem, repeat the above verse. He knows and understands all that you are going through.

Lord, thank You for knowing me completely, and for reminding me that because of You, I am never alone.

For the Greatest Good

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.—Isaiah 55:9 (NIV)

When you are struggling with circumstances that don’t make sense, or outcomes that defy expectations, trust that God has better things in mind. Know that God will help you remain steadfast and strong as you face your problems.

Lord, I know Your views are higher than mine. You are always in pursuit of the greatest good.

Growing Slowly

Put on the new self—created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.—Ephesians 4:24 (TLB)

Sometimes a burst of spiritual growth happens overnight. But most times, it is a gradual process that takes patience and dedication. Don’t be discouraged if you feel like your faith has hit a stumbling block. Maybe you are struggling with doubt, or having trouble committing to a prayer time. Relax, God isn’t in a hurry.

Heavenly Father, help me to be patient with my faith and to forgive myself when I fall. I will always come back to You for comfort, encouragement and peace.

Beautiful Words

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?—James 3:9–11 (NIV)

Jesus wants beautiful things to flow from your life—including the words that come from your mouth. You honor Him by being compassionate, encouraging and loving to others. The more that you allow yourself to be a source of His goodness, the better your life and the lives of those around you will become.

Heavenly Father, guide me to see that my words are important—not only what I say, but how I say them.

Two-Minute Life Changer

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”—John 14:6 (NIV)

Start the new year right by making this life-changing practice a habit: for two focused minutes every day think only of Jesus. Fill your heart with His love. He understands you. He is perfectly aware and able to support you through your daily challenges.

Lord, I am ready to give You two minutes each day. I will devote my time to You and soak up everything You have to say.

Keep Dreaming

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”—Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)

Sometimes our dreams are a long time coming. Perhaps there are things on your bucket list that seem completely out of reach. Don’t give up. One of the greatest gifts God has given us is the ability to look ahead with hope and the drive to keep going after our dreams.

Lord, thank You for putting dreams in my heart and helping me keep the faith that some day I will reach them.
