Today's daily devotion
The Exhausted Prophet
Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.”—1 Kings 19:5 (NIV)
Elijah had dedicated His life to serving God, and yet he became so exhausted he was ready to give up. In the
above verse, the Lord let Elijah sleep peacefully and sent an angel to feed him. After rest and food, Elijah felt prepared to face his future and hear God’s still, small voice. If you are feeling like Elijah, burned out from your life’s work, take a moment and ask God to minister to you.
Lord, when I am struggling, guide me to find peace and rest in Your presence.
