Right Where You Need to Be

Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.—Proverbs 1:5 (ESV)
It is okay to feel lost or confused, to not know what you want or how to make things better. When you pray to God and admit that you are unsure of the best course of action, you open the door to His wisdom. The next time you feel foolish or confused because you don’t know what to do, ask for God’s help and be patient for His answer.
Heavenly Father, You are my trusted Counselor. Thank You for guiding me and helping me learn that I am always exactly where I am “supposed” to be.

When You Are Afraid

I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.—Psalm 34:4 (NIV)
Fear is a lonely emotion. Do you turn inward and cower when you feel threatened? Instead of recoiling against the world, turn to God. See the value in reaching out to others. Be brave and kind.
Mighty God, no matter what I face, I know that nothing is impossible with You at my side.

Open My Eyes

And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.—2 Kings 6:17 (NIV)
God is a better decision maker than you are. When you need help with a situation, ask God to help you see what is happening and to guide you in the right direction. Trust that He can transform your confusion into clarity, your fear into opportunity.
Lord, when I don’t know what to do, open my eyes so that I may see.

God Makes a Way

And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.—Colossians 4:3 (NIV)
Think of God opening the way through a problem in your life. Christian preacher, educator and philanthropist George Müller said, “We must pray patiently . . . until we obtain an answer.” Your prayers can move mountains and make the impossible possible. Pray patiently with steadfast faith.
Almighty God, I put all my trust in You.

God Works for the Good

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.—Romans 8:28 (NIV)
Your quality of life is not based on what happens to you, but on how you respond. When tragedy befalls, do you become bitter, or do you become better? Do you look with gratitude at the blessings you still have, or become fixated on what could have or should have happened? Your spiritual vision is what will determine your reaction and your future.
Lord, when I struggle with dark thoughts, help me to remember that You work for the good in all things.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.—Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
God blesses you and strengthens your character so that you can be of service. Your spirit is filled with His light when you devote yourself to being an instrument of His work.

God Is Working in You

God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.—Philippians 2:13 (NLT)
This verse highlights the beautiful truth that when you spend time with God, He is working in you. Although God will not necessarily give you the desires of your heart, He will instead help align your spirit more closely to His will.
God, help me surrender my self-centered desires and align my wishes with Your way.

Never Too Late

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.—Ephesians 4:32 (ESV)
It’s never too late to forgive someone. If you’d like to let go of a grudge, ask God to help heal the pain and hurt of being wronged. Even if the person is no longer in your life, you can still find peace by letting go of your anger.
Lord, I am ready to forgive. Heal my heart with Your grace.

Make the World a Better Place

I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.—Philemon 6 (NIV)
Sometimes world news can leave us feeling afraid and helpless. Turn to God in prayer when you are upset over troubling news reports. Ask Him to help and show you what you can do to make the world a better place.
My loving God, even when the world seems in turmoil and I am upset about the future, I trust that You are near, sending Your strength and peace.

Respond Selflessly

I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies.—Psalm 18:3 (NIV)
How do you react when you are upset by a disappointing outcome? Instead of becoming angry or hurt, turn to Jesus and ask Him for the grace to respond selflessly and to trust Him for guidance.
Lord, I trust that like a shepherd leads His flock, You are taking me down the right path for my life’s journey.

Live a Victorious Life

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here.—2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
Change can be difficult, but Jesus offers the opportunity for an entirely new way of thinking. The best part is that when you invite Him to take over, you don’t have to change yourself. He transforms you and guides you to begin with a new perspective and a trusting heart.
Lord, You are all I need to live a victorious life.
