You Are Valued

Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!—Luke 12:24 (NIV)
God sees your value and understands your physical and emotional needs. Faithfully go to Him and let Him remove your stress so that you can find rest. Nothing is too big or too small—whatever is causing you worry is exactly what He wants to resolve.
Lord, help me to remember that I am worthy of Your love and care—not because of my actions and deeds, but simply because I am here.

A Future Filled with Hope

But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”—Matthew 14:27 (NIV)
God, the great I Am, is in control of every event. When you are worried and feel vulnerable and stuck in a situation, turn to Jesus. Feel the power of His glory and grace. There is nothing to be afraid of, because He will give you the strength to break free from fear.
Almighty God, I know You will guide me through the tough times. Help me to cast aside my doubts and face the future with hope.

The Greatest Position

Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.—Matthew 18:4 (NIV)
Max Lucado said, “Which would you prefer? To be king of the mountain for a day? Or to be a child of God for eternity?” When you depend on Jesus and trust Him with all your needs, He will fill you with reassurance and hope. Take in this truth: You are His child, in this world and beyond.
Lord, I know everything will be okay because You love me and will never leave me.

My Burden Is Light

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.—Matthew 11:29–30 (NIV)
Jesus is with you, doing the hard and heavy work. When you walk with Him, He will carry the weight of your burden. All you need to do is stay beside Him and accept the comfort and relief that He offers.
Heavenly Father, because of You, my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Ask Yourself

Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”—Mark 4:40 (NLT)
When you are fearful of the future, reread the two questions that Jesus asked in this verse. He is with you, guiding your path and helping you move forward. Release your fears and hold on to your faith, knowing that His presence is always available to comfort you.
Dear Lord, help me to conquer my fear so that I can live the joy-filled life You intend for me.

Feed Your Spirit

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”—John 6:35 (NIV)
The best spiritual self-care practice is devoting time to your faith journey. In the same way that you need daily nourishment to feed your body, you must spend time with Jesus to keep your spirit healthy and strong. When Jesus says, “I am the Bread of Life,” He is telling you that He can satisfy the deepest longings of your soul.
Lord, You are the manna that sustains me in the desert of my daily life.

Be Grateful for Hard Times

With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord: “He is good; his love toward Israel endures forever.” And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.—Ezra 3:11 (NIV)
Charles Spurgeon said, “Trials teach us what we are; they dig up the soil, and let us see what we are made of.” This is the upside to adversity. Not only do challenges reveal our character—they help us strengthen it. Only when you are navigating a difficult situation do you realize how strong and resilient you truly are.
Lord, tough times have been a great teacher to me. I am grateful that Your strength is my light leading me forward.

The Power of Humility

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.—Ephesians 4:2 (NIV)
God gives grace to the humble. Ask Him to help you release whatever prideful qualities are holding you back: seeking attention from others, judging friends and loved ones and feeling superior to them or feeling upset when you aren’t recognized for an accomplishment.
Lord, help me understand what it truly means to lead a humble life. How You see me is all that matters.

Made for Another World

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”—John 4:13–14 (NIV)
Author C.S. Lewis wrote, “If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.” We are all spiritual beings with a desire from within for something greater. Reaching out to God and developing a relationship with Him fills your day, and  your life, with meaning.
Heavenly Father, earthly blessings are wonderful, but only Your love can truly satisfy me.

A New Path

As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord.—Exodus 14:10 (NIV)
When the Israelites were trapped between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s army, they cried out to the Lord and feared they had made a terrible mistake by leaving Egypt. Soon they discovered the blessing of going forward despite all doubts. When you feel ensnared in a situation, press forward and trust that God will make a way.
Lord, when You call me to do something bigger than I feel I can handle, help me remember that You are working through me.

Practice Daily Gratitude

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.—Psalm 103:2 (NLT)
Developing a daily habit of recognizing things you are thankful for is vital for your spiritual health. When you appreciate the good things, you feel hopeful about the future. Even in tough times, when challenges seem overwhelming—if you look closely, you can find God’s blessings.
Lord, I am content with what I have and trust You to take care of the future.

Is there an inner battle that you are carrying alone? Turn to God to help you overcome your problem. He knows your personal struggles. His grace will help strengthen your confidence and give you hope and faith to help you carry on.
Lord of Mercy, forgive me for trying to handle everything on my own. I am ready for Your help.
