Reset Your Spirit

“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”—John 9:5 (ESV)
Today, after many have turned their clocks ahead for daylight saving time, consider the importance of light in your spiritual life. In the Bible, light represents the presence of God. Light gives us comfort and understanding. We strive to walk in God’s light. Today, take in the truth of this verse and reset your spirit to let in more of His glorious light.
Dear Lord, thank You for being the Source that brightens my life and the lives of those around me.

Right Where You Are Supposed to Be

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.—Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV)
When you’re in a difficult situation, do you spend time overthinking every option and asking God why this is happening? The next time you are troubled by a situation, consider this verse. We have a limited view and perspective. God’s timing is always perfect. Trust Him. Be assured that He knows what He is doing. Be bold and reconnect with His strength. Approach the day with positivity!
Dear Lord, thank You for reminding me that I am exactly where I am meant to be.

Rise and Try Again

For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.—Proverbs 24:16 (NIV)
Making mistakes is a necessary part of living a fulfilled life; stumbling and falling are all a part of growing. Let go of any fear of failure, and focus on doing your best. Be proud of your wonderfully imperfect journey.
Lord God, if I become stuck because I am afraid of trying something new for fear of making a mistake, remind me that I am getting better every day. Remind me that mistakes pave the way to success.

Near the Broken-Hearted

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.—Psalm 34:17 (NIV)
When you face trials and feel discouraged, be assured that God can and will deliver you from your troubles. Jesus knows what it feels like to be brokenhearted and unaccepted. He understands the human experience of feeling misunderstood and rejected. Receive His comforting presence.
Heavenly Father, You are Lord of the broken. When loneliness strikes my heart, fill me with Your glorious presence.

Your Stronghold of Faith

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.—Psalm 18:2 (NIV)
Unexpected and challenging changes—you lose a job or feel betrayed by a friend—can be difficult to cope with. Yet when you reflect on your journey, you recognize that despite your fear and resistance, the difficult times brought wisdom and compassion. Your faith grew, and so did your spirit.
Lord, comfort me and guide me when life takes an unpleasant turn. Help me accept what has happened and trust that You are in control.

Seek His Approval

For they loved human praise more than praise from God.—John 12:43 (NIV)
Are you using your gifts to serve others? It’s easy to fall into the trap of wanting praise from others—and not focusing on the One who truly matters. Search your heart and align your thoughts and actions with His will and your gifts.
Dear Lord, I want to live my life in a way that serves others and makes You proud.

The Strength in Vulnerability

We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you.—2 Corinthians 6:11 (NIV)
Open your heart wide and share your secrets with God. Search the dark places of your heart and tell Him something you have never told anyone. Be clear and honest. Lay your burdens at His feet and feel His protective presence allowing you to be your true self.
Dear Lord, thank You for being with me and helping me see the strength in my vulnerability.

Get Ready for Your New Thing

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”—Isaiah 43:18–19 (ESV)
Are you looking for a spark to bring a little magic into your life? It is easy to fall into a routine and forget that trying new things—whether traveling to a new city or country, exploring a nearby town or trying a new recipe—can refresh and inspire you. Today, ask God to help you experience something new!
Lord, You have created so many amazing things. Wow me today with something I’ve never experienced.

The Message in Every Moment

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!—Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)
Sometimes it can feel as if you are rushing through life. When you hurry, you miss out on the joy of the moment, and everything can feel out of sync. God never intended for you to strain and stress through life. You are here to nurture your faith, and that means taking on the tasks you need to do in time with the rhythm of your soul.
Almighty Father, help me slow down and fully experience the message and meaning in every moment.

Discerning the Truth

Watch out that no one deceives you.—Mark 13:5 (NIV)
Sometimes people twist the truth or bend Scripture to mean something that doesn’t feel quite right in your heart. When this happens, quiet your thoughts and feel Jesus’ presence. Draw close to Him and rely on His wisdom and guidance to lead you to the true meaning. Center your mind and your heart on Him.
Heavenly Father, I turn to You to help strengthen my discernment. Guide me on the right path.

Blessed by Winter’s Wait

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.—2 Peter 3:18 (NIV)
On these wintry days, despite the frozen surface of the ground, new growth is beginning to form. Just as nature often grows unnoticed, your spirit and faith unfold slowly, little by little and day by day. Take a moment and give thanks for winter’s pauses, which give you time to rest and reflect on your own spiritual growth.
God of Compassion, thank You for nurturing and shaping me with Your guidance and love.
