This Facebook Group Celebrates UPS Drivers and the Dogs They Meet

The group shares sweet stories and photos of the friendly four-legged customers on their routes.

UPS Delivery Driver

These UPS drivers are committed to providing quality service to all of their customers, even ones with a tail and four legs.

Sean McCarren, who has been driving the big brown truck for 17 years, was inspired to start a Facebook group amongst his fellow delivery men after noticing many of them were regularly greeted by happy customers on their routes, but those customers weren’t exactly human.

McCarren would receive photos from other drivers of dogs saying hello to them at the door of their trucks while making deliveries. After plenty of group texts sharing those smiling faces and wagging tails, McCarren launched UPS Dogs, a community page on Facebook for drivers to swap photos and stories to inspire each other and remind each other why they loved their job.

“I wish we could just hang out with the families and their dogs all day, but it’s just not feasible,” McCarren told Buzzfeed news, explaining that many of the drivers take breaks to play with their four-legged friends.

Plenty of the drivers buy treats and dog biscuits to hand out to their loyal friends which is why most of the photos feature pups eagerly standing inside a UPS truck, waiting for some love and attention. Pit Bulls, Golden Retrievers, tiny Teacup puppies, the drivers see all kinds of breeds (even some cats make their way into the mix) but they all have one thing in common: the ability to bring a smile to your face.

“This is one of the very best parts of my job,” UPS driver Jeff Skender said. “It is an awesome feeling to be greeted so happily by unconditional love.”

For its part, UPS, while not affiliated with the group, seems to approve of the drivers’ commitment to building customer loyalty.

“Yes, we are aware of that site,” a spokesperson told BuzzFeed News. “It’s a good example of the relationships our employees build with their customers, two- or four-legged!”
