Peach Blossoms in the Light

Can the Lord be seen by the way we lead our lives? Are we illuminating His love and drawing people to Him?

The old saying “birds of feather flock together” fits the description of myself and a friend.

I met Heather a few years ago at the Botanical Garden of Georgia while photographing hummingbirds. When she walked up, she knew exactly what I was doing.

She is also a photographer who loves hummingbirds. We both love to photograph nature, but she is a portrait photographer and captures other neat subjects–princesses and fairies!

Her clients are young girls dressed up like fairies and princesses, and she even takes them to a salon for hair and light makeup. Her work is stunning!

This particular day, we planned on meeting at her house and photographing at Thomas Orchards in Bishop, Georgia. I would photograph the peach blossoms while she photographed her client. But she rescheduled her client to the day before, so we were both photographing peach blossoms together.

The blossoms were beautiful! I enjoyed photographing them backlit with the sun behind the blossoms. I don’t normally shoot this way but loved how the sun illuminated the petals.

What are we illuminating? Can the Lord be seen by the way we lead our lives? Are we illuminating His love and drawing people to Him?
