A Heart of Thanksgiving

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.—Joshua 10:13 (KJV)
Once every four years, the whole planet gets an extra day. Today, on Leap Day, consider this question asked by beloved poet Mary Oliver: “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
Check in with your heart and soul and make sure you are on the right track.
Heavenly Father, I will spend this bonus day serving You.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.—Psalm 107:1 (NIV)

Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.—Galatians 6:9 (ESV)

Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God…—1 Peter 2:16–17 (NIV)
