Stories of Inspiration for Emotional Spring Cleaning!

Guideposts staffers took to the streets of New York City to ask people if the fresh new season was inspiring change in their lives.

[MUSIC PLAYING] You know, pretty much all of the basics. Watching what I eat, living a healthier lifestyle. At 51, it’s not about looks now, it’s about health.

I’ll say I’ll change my attitude and my temper. Kind of get mad too fast, and I always have attitude for no reason. So I’ll probably change that. It’s a new year.

More time for intimate conversations with my husband would be right up there. The kids take up too much time.

My spring cleaning be able to stay home, and relax in my house for the whole spring season would be nice. That would be nice.

Yeah, I would like to stop smoking. I smoke a lot, so that’s something I would like to, you know, quit.

I tend to work a lot. It does close off other areas of my life, so I suppose– because if we’re trying to put that back into balance is a good thing.

I need to give people more of a chance and be more sympathetic, because I’ve noticed I’ve gotten a bit cold. And when people cry and need me, I just I try to hide, and say, oh, it’ll be fine. Don’t worry about it. Maybe because I don’t want to feel it.

So I think that will be good for me to just be more– I am very caring, and I have a good heart. But when it comes to being sympathetic, to me, it’s like, oh, come on. Get over it. Let’s go for ice cream. Oh come on, you know.

I, I love flowers, but I can’t keep up with having the flowers in the house. So usually have– I have fake flowers, so I want to try to get real flowers for the spring. The winter kind of keeps me back from being outside as much as I do in the spring, so I want to buy new flowers. I want to buy fresh flowers.

And what do flowers, do they sort of give you a sense of like–

Motivation, happiness, clarity, I would say.

Just take it one day at a time. Yeah, that would be nice.
