Hi, everybody. I’m Amy Molinaro, Vice President and Publisher at “Guidepost.” I just wanted to take a few minutes this morning and tell you a little bit about my mother. She has been the biggest inspiration to me in my life.
She is very, very funny. She loves sports, and she loves music. She is so much fun to be around that everybody wants to spend as much time with her as they can.
Throughout my life, she has always been there for me. I want to share a couple little stories with you. One day I was skiing. Our whole family went out to Colorado, and we were skiing. I was only skiing that day with my brother, as my sister-in-law and my husband and my mom had something else to do.
My nephews were in ski school and it was getting towards the end of the day, and I was having a very tough time getting down the mountain. My brother went off and left me, as he had to go pick up my nephews. And I finally got to the bottom of the mountain. And I was completely spent and exhausted. And I had no idea how to get back to the condo where we were staying. All of a sudden, out of the thousands of people that were at the bottom of the mountain, there was my mother.
Another time, my husband and I were taking a walk. I grew up in Hollywood, Florida. And we were spending some time with my mom, and one afternoon, wanted to just get out and take a little walk. We got caught in a torrential downpour, as is very common in South Florida in the summer. We didn’t know what to do. We ducked under a little bit of cover that was around. And within 10 minutes, all of a sudden, there’s my mom driving down the street looking for us. Once again, she was there for us.
I grew in a very musical family, and my mom is a wonderful piano player. Many of our best times have been sitting around the piano– or even when there’s no piano, just sitting around singing. Sometimes it’s just the two of us. Sometimes my husband will be there– cousins. We’ve had a lot of fun over the years.
So mom, I just wanted to say, thank you very much for being there for me. Go Marlins. She’s a big Marlins fan and is enjoying the Marlins season so far this year. And I love you, and thank you very much.
Happy Mother’s Day, mom. I’m sorry that I can’t be there with you, but I’m sending you the best wishes. I love you.
