Driving is simply not for me. I failed my first road test, I have terrible luck with cars, and to top it off, I get anxious at the very suggestion of using a highway. I have even kept myself awake at night worrying about the safety of my friends and family.
So I was less than thrilled when my older brother Mike received his motorcycle license and bought his first bike. Cars made me nervous enough. But a motorcycle? They were petrifying. The thought of my brother speeding down the winding roads of upstate New York with only a helmet to protect him made my stomach twist. What if there was ice? Or a pothole?
This past Christmas, I left the New York City area and joined my family in my hometown. As my mother prepared breakfast, I noticed a small glint on Mike’s motorcycle jacket. I leaned in closer to get a better look. He smoothed out the leather folds to reveal a little angel riding a gold-colored motorcycle. It was attached to one of the jacket’s zipper pulls. He had a guardian angel as his copilot!
I will always worry about Mike on the road, but the angel sighting made me feel better. These heavenly helpers truly are all among us. Have you had any angel sightings lately?
