My friends and I used to laugh about how easy it was to get lost in Walmart. But on a recent trip there with my first-grader, I was near tears.
I had been flipping through a few books while Micah played in the aisle close by. When I looked up from browsing, Micah had vanished.
I ran around to the next aisle. No sign of her. My heart pounded. Stay calm, I told myself, racing in circles around the store. Dolls, dresses, jewelry—where would a little girl go? The
options seemed terrifyingly endless. For some reason I headed for the bicycles.
A faint cry came from behind the full racks. “Micah!” I pulled her close. Maybe it wasn’t so easy to get lost in Walmart after all, not when angels lead the search party.
