Don’t ask me how I know this, but it’s National Whipped Cream Day.
Perfect timing, too. The snow has all but melted in the backyard, along with our Christmas snow angels. Not our best snow angels, I have to admit. They were a little sad this year because they were made of a blizzard snow that kept my daughters and me from celebrating Christmas in New Orleans with my family. Due to bad weather all across the northeast, our jetBlue flight was canceled about an hour before we left for the airport. Canceled by email, no less! Then I spent hours on the phone rebooking—literally hours—only to have that flight canceled as well.
We rode out the snow storm, thankful we didn’t lose electricity (and heat!) in the high winds. We did lose a tree, which blocked the road for two days but didn’t take down any wires or touch the house (missed it by inches). We gave up on our trip finally, unpacked (guess what’s worse than unpacking after a trip…unpacking without a trip) and tried to make the most of the snow. Thus the sad angels.
So in honor of National Whipped Cream Day, maybe the girls and I will spray some heavenly whipped cream angels all over the frozen backyard lawn. I’m hoping the cold weather and icy ground will keep our happy heavenly angels intact for a while. Maybe even until mid-February, when we’re going to try this trip again!
