For three wonderful years I have been writing this blog, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Hearing from people all over the world, with their own very personal experiences of life and death, has been extraordinary for me.

But all good things must come to an end, and so it’s time to say goodbye and thank you to Guideposts and to you, my readers.  You allowed me to share my knowledge and understanding of the dying process, God’s closeness to all of us every day and the enormous love and forgiveness that is there for the taking, if only we reach out our hands and hearts to our Creator.

God’s love permeates within us from our first moment and remains with us until we take our last breath and enter our eternity. Whether we believe in him or not, he believes in us and we belong to him. It is a grace-filled experience when we allow ourselves to be open to hearing about him, come to trust in his mercy and accept his love and forgiveness. We become so much more aware of the subtleties of life, the hidden messages he sends us every day and the recognition of his face and heart in so many people around us.

Yes, angels are real, and people often see them as they are dying. Yes, people close to death see loved ones who have died before them and yes, the beauty of the music and flowers is communicated by young and old alike, often using the very same words. These are now understood as universal experiences, and they cross every line of culture, faith and geography.

I am finishing my third book now, so I ask for your prayers to the Holy Spirit that I might share this even newer understanding of how God comforts and consoles us after we lose someone we love. The patient who said to me, “There are no beginnings and no endings, Trudy” was trying to explain that the love of God that allowed us to be here in the first place remains with us all of our lives and is the same love that is waiting to take us home and remain with us forever. God assures those left behind when their loved ones die, that life is a continuum–no beginnings and no endings. He just loves us and will always be with us.

God bless you and yours abundantly!
