My sisters and I live in downtown Manhattan. Last year on 9/11, like the year before, we decided to take a walk around the neighborhood and view the annual “Tribute in Light” installation, made up of 88 searchlights, that represents the fallen Twin Towers.
Before we went on our way, my sister Priscilla paused to take a photo of One World Trade Center, aka the new Freedom Tower, shining brightly at night. And that’s when we saw a different kind of light.
When we looked at the photo she’d just snapped on her phone, we couldn’t believe what she’d captured. Two beams of light coming off a nearby car’s headlights as it turned the corner.
It was a simple photo, but a beautiful reminder nonetheless. That God’s light is with us, guiding us through, even in the midst of darkness.
