My older sisters are fraternal twins, and I’ve always been fascinated by all things twins. So I was wowed by a recent video shared on Facebook by Anthea Jackson-Rushford of Victoria, Australia.
On January 4, Anthea gave birth to premature twins–Kristiana and Kristian–at 28 weeks and a day. They weighed less than 2.2 lbs. each. When the twins were placed on their father Glen’s chest for kangaroo care, something incredible happened. They held hands.
Anthea documented the wonder in a video posted to her Facebook page:
“He actually holds her hand!” Anthea exclaims in the video. “How is that possible? That’s just unbelievable.”
They kept on holding hands too. As Anthea comments in a later photo, “Both my angels holding hands again as if they were born to! Amazing sight!”
It really is amazing. Kristiana and Kristian already have each other’s backs. Not to mention a miraculous bond they’ll share for life.
