A Postcard from Uganda

The antidote to a “no good, very bad” day

God's pick-me-up arrived in the form of a postcard.

Yesterday, I had one of those “no good, very bad” days. I’m not sure why exactly, but I just didn’t feel like myself. I’d had a relaxing weekend, but I arrived to work tired and all out of sorts.

As I went over my work for the day, I felt more and more overwhelmed. So many deadlines, so many words to be written! Finally by lunchtime–usually my favorite part of the day, as you might have guessed–I was more than a little grumpy and a whole lot of stressed.

I grabbed my phone and got up from my desk–I just had to get away from it all. On my way out the door, I passed by my work mailbox. That’s when I noticed something brown peeking out over the edge of it. I don’t get a ton of mail, so I was intrigued.

I reached up to grab it and found a postcard with an image of two fishermen from Uganda. On the back, there was the following message:

Hey Diana,

Your Guideposts blogs are a joy!!! We love them so dearly.

Monkey hugs & kisses from Africa!

Kabira

I stood there for a moment, simply amazed. A reader had sent lovely words of encouragement–all the way from Uganda!–on a day when I needed an uplifting message most. How had it arrived just in time? Slot machines pentru jucătorii români din cazinourile online Jocuri Păcănele

I guess that’s the thing about God’s wondrous ways. His miracles are truly all around just waiting to be discovered, even on those “no good, very bad” days.
