Here’s one of the many greats place to stop along Highway One. I had a cold during this whole trip, but every time I looked out at the crashing waves of the Pacific, I felt restored, as if I weren’t sick at all.
Yet another impressive view from Highway One, which practically makes driving a spiritual experience (at least for the passengers. I’d prefer the driver to just pay attention to the speed limit).
Noted American author and expatriate Henry Miller made his home in Big Sur in 1944 after a long stint in Paris. I had to check out this small memorial nestled among the redwoods off Highway One.
After visiting Big Sur, we went to Pinnacles State Park, a massive piece of land with ancient volcanoes. I took a nap under that tree!
