How Pamela Slaton Uses Intuition to Reunite Families

We spoke to the author and investigative genealogist about the many miraculous ways she reunites adoptees with their birth families

Mysterious Ways receives a lot of submissions about amazing reunions between adoptees and their birth families. Like parents and children inexplicably finding each other just in the nick of time, as was the story of Dr. Ken Davis, a Chief Medical Officer who found his birthfather just in time to help see him through a life-saving heart surgery. Or siblings who’ve found each other without even knowing the other existed, like Hillary Harris, whose story was featured in the February/March issue of Mysterious Ways. Adopted as an infant, Hillary found out that her new next door neighbor was, in fact, her long-lost sister. Each incredible occurrence revealed something profound about the connection we share with family.

That’s why we decided to team up with investigative genealogist Pamela Slaton to help one of our readers reconnect with an adopted family member. You might recognize Slaton from her fascinating Q&A with Mysterious Ways. An adoptee herself, after an intensive search for her own birth mother, Slaton discovered that she had a special talent for solving even the most baffling adoption cases. She’s reunited thousands of adoptees with their birth families, often listening to her intuition for guidance while on a case.

When Amanda Davis’ heartbreaking and puzzling story came across our desks, we knew hers was a case for Slaton. The last time Davis saw her younger brother was when he was taken from her arms. She was 7 and he was a few weeks old. Now an adult with two young children of her own, Davis has been looking for him for two years without any luck. Will Slaton be able to solve what no one else could?

Find out in a video series featuring their incredible journey. Head to Facebook.com/MysteriousWays April 15-18 at 7 P.M. ET to tune in. We hope to see you there!
