The Importance of Being There
I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.—2 John 1:12 (NIV)
The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.—LAMENTATIONS 3:22–23 NLT
Did you have a rough day yesterday?
Sometimes it feels like we as caregivers have more than our share of things that go wrong. Often we just don’t handle those problems the way we wish we would. Then more doubt and concern loom on our horizon.
But this is a new day, full of grace and promise. One day is separated from another by night, and with the morning light comes a renewal of God’s grace and strength to carry on. We might use all our human resources—all our grace, our strength, our patience, our ability—in a single day. But don’t worry. The Lord is faithful, and He’ll give us a whole new supply of every good thing for the new day.
Before this day even began, God knew what we would face, what we would need to get through—and He provided for that. Drawing on His assets—His grace, His faithfulness, His gifts for us—we’ll have plenty of strength.
As we trust and praise God, we are able to draw on all His blessings for today—and all the days to come.
Thank You, Lord, that Your mercies are new every morning. I thank You for providing me with all I will need for this day. Please remind me to rely on You.
I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.—2 John 1:12 (NIV)
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.—2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (NIV)
The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.—Proverbs 19:8 (NIV)
