Disappointment to Astonishment

God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done.—2 CORINTHIANS 9:8 MSG

Caregivers are often disappointed. We make plans, then change them due to the needs of our loved ones. Often a rescheduled event is again rescheduled. Everything and everyone seem to take precedence over our own needs as caregivers. It feels like the whole world revolves around our loved ones, while our own needs go unmet.

Our plans change so often that many of us have stopped making our own plans. Instead, we focus only on the ones for whom we care. Soon we feel completely spent.

But then we sense a change as God makes His presence known. We acknowledge Him in our daily routines and
experience a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or an extravagant blessing. Our whole perspective changes from disappointment to astonishment as God pours out His blessing in the most unexpected ways.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your extravagant blessings, the rich storehouse from which I can generously give my life away. I thank You for making Your presence known to me, for encouraging me, and for helping me recognize Your hand in my daily routine.
