God-Sent Friends

For I have sent him to you for this very purpose… that he may encourage your hearts.—COLOSSIANS 4:8 NASB

Ever lose your perspective while caregiving?

There are times when we seem unable to find our way through a situation or problem. And that’s the time to confide in a trusted friend who can see the situation objectively. It’s always good to get a fresh outlook, and close friends are good for providing that.

Seeking counsel doesn’t imply a lack of trust in the Lord. It is an acknowledgment that God sometimes works through other people—people with clear eyes and helpful perspectives. The Lord places others along our path to help us when our own vision grows dim. And you know what? It’s no burden to them. Real friends love to encourage us and share our burdens in any way they can.

Through godly friends, our vision becomes clearer, our purpose more defined, our perspective much broader, and our burden immeasurably lighter. And allowing others to help with our burden blesses them, too.

Lord Jesus, let me be humble enough to know that I don’t have all the answers—and caring enough to let others come alongside to help me.
