Respond Like Jesus

“So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”—John 18:37 (NLT)

When someone upsets you, do you respond with anger? You can’t control another person’s actions, but you can control how you respond to them. Consider how Jesus lived. He responded to adversity with gentleness. The next time you are feeling attacked or accused of something, ask for Jesus’ help in responding and remind yourself that people are more important than pride.

Heavenly Father, when I am being criticized help me take time to listen and respond gently. Guide me to extend Your grace in difficult situations.
