Jesus Loves You

Let Him lead me to the banquet hall, and let His banner over me be love.—Song of Songs 2:4 (NIV)
It’s something you already know… a basic truth you learned as a child… but today truly take it in: Jesus loves you, unconditionally. He is with you every moment of every day. Your every breath is a gift. The blooming flowers, blue sky, all are expressions of His love.
Dear Jesus, because you love me, my life is blessed. Thank You for each and every gift You give me. Thank You for another day.

Spread Joy

“Being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy.”—Colossians 1:11 (ESV)
Joy is powerful and wonderfully contagious. The Bible is filled with Scripture that connects faith with joy. (See Nehemiah 8:10 and Psalm 28:7.) Jesus yearns for you to share the joys of life with others. Look for opportunities to raise someone’s spirit and give them a boost of energy.
Lord, thank You for the power of joy.

Good Night Verse

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.—Philippians 4:6–7 (NIV)
On nights when you can’t sleep, when the worries of tomorrow or rehashing a hard day keep you awake, turn to this Scripture. Offer your worries to the one who can do something about them. Tell Him what is on your mind and ask Him to guard your heart and help you find rest. Feel His perfect peace cover you.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the protecting my thoughts and helping me trust You with my worries.

Yes, I Am Here

Then when you call, the Lord will answer. “Yes, I am here,” he will quickly reply.—Isaiah 58:9 (NLT)
Have you been praying for something for a long time with seemingly no answer? Sometimes the answer you receive is not a solution to your petition. The answer is His presence. The above verse assures us that when we pray, He hears. God is here.
Lord, it’s true I need You in my life more than anything. I know You are here.

Working with God

“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”—John 10:10 (AKJV)
No matter what your line of work, you will always have more success when you include the Lord. Take Him as your partner and you will discover new power, strength and perspective. Your attitude will brighten and your efforts will be rewarded.
Lord, You are my partner, an ever present Source of guidance and wisdom. Make our plans BIG.

Trust God’s Timing

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.—Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV)

Often when a difficult situation arises or persistent
prayers go unanswered, the next step is to question
God’s timing with a heartfelt, “Why?” When you find
yourself overwhelmed and filled with questions, trust
Him. When you doubt His timing, assure yourself that
all is well. You are exactly where you are meant to be.

Lord, help me replace my whys and what-ifs with trust in You.

Keep Moving Forward

We share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.—Romans 8:17–18 (NIV)

When you are going through dark times, keep moving, have faith and place your hope in Jesus, the Light of the world. Know that there is always light at the end of the tunnel, and every tunnel offers lessons that will help you grow. Every tunnel moves you forward to a destination.

Lord, it’s uncomfortable in the tunnel, but I trust You. Together we will make it to the other side.

The Lord Is Your Shade

The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand.—Psalm 121:5 (ESV)

Have you been seeking out shade from the hot summer sun? The Bible is filled with verses about shade, shelter and taking refuge in the Lord. When stresses in your life heat up, remember that Jesus is your shade. He protects and shields you in the midst of trouble.

Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings… (Psalm 57:1)

Respond Like Jesus

“So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”—John 18:37 (NLT)

When someone upsets you, do you respond with anger? You can’t control another person’s actions, but you can control how you respond to them. Consider how Jesus lived. He responded to adversity with gentleness. The next time you are feeling attacked or accused of something, ask for Jesus’ help in responding and remind yourself that people are more important than pride.
Heavenly Father, when I am being criticized help me take time to listen and respond gently. Guide me to extend Your grace in difficult situations.

The Time Is Now

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.—Psalm 118:24 (NLT)

Do you find yourself caught up in “if only” happiness? I’d be happy if only I had more money…a better house… a few less pounds here or there. Although it’s healthy and good to have goals, to strive to improve your life, your happiness shouldn’t be delayed by circumstances. Every day is an opportunity to appreciate where you are and what you are at this exact moment.
Dear God, today may Your glory be manifested in my life—a day full of grace, joy, happiness and laughter.

Your Steadfast Love

I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness.—Psalm 89:1 (NLT)

God’s sweet presence is woven into everyday messages of His love. Little reminders are sprinkled throughout the day—in the sky, the chirping of the birds, a single, heart-shaped leaf, the perfect song on the radio—His beauty and love is all around us. Today make it a point to take notice. His messages of love are always there.

Heavenly Father, today I will seek, see and be grateful for the many ways You show Your love.

A Quick Pick-Me-Up

“Hallelujah! Praise God from heaven, praise Him from the mountaintops; Praise Him, all you His angels, praise Him, all you His warriors, Praise Him, sun and moon, praise Him, you morning stars; Praise Him, high heaven, praise Him, heavenly rain clouds; Praise, oh let them praise the name of God— he spoke the word, and there they were!”—Psalm 148:1 (MSG)
Does your spirit need a boost? Don’t reach for a coffee or an energy drink. Instead spend a few minutes praising Jesus. Invite His joy to fill you. Praise Jesus for Who He is, what He’s done, and what He has promised to do.
Heavenly Father, thank You for being my victorious Savior, best Friend and holy Lord.
