A Quick Pick-Me-Up

“Hallelujah! Praise God from heaven, praise Him from the mountaintops; Praise Him, all you His angels, praise Him, all you His warriors, Praise Him, sun and moon, praise Him, you morning stars; Praise Him, high heaven, praise Him, heavenly rain clouds; Praise, oh let them praise the name of God— he spoke the word, and there they were!”—Psalm 148:1 (MSG)
Does your spirit need a boost? Don’t reach for a coffee or an energy drink. Instead spend a few minutes praising Jesus. Invite His joy to fill you. Praise Jesus for Who He is, what He’s done, and what He has promised to do.
Heavenly Father, thank You for being my victorious Savior, best Friend and holy Lord.

The above verse was said about King Jehoram, a ruler who lived a life of greed and power, a life totally apart from God. In contrast, consider the Apostle Paul’s “epitaph” that he himself wrote in a final letter, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of His return” (2 Timothy 4:7-8). How do you want to be remembered? It’s never too late or too early to live your best life.

Lord, I want my life to be one of purpose. A generous life filled with meaning, a faith-filled life of service.

In those times, it’s best to take a deep breath and accept God’s will.
