Veterans Awareness Month: Your Donations Matter

Guideposts thanks donors to its initiative to support veterans.

Veterans Awareness Month: American Flag

In 2015, Guideposts declared November “Veterans Awareness Month”–an initiative unlike any in our history–and invited our readers, social media followers and even those who don’t know Guideposts to join our campaign to support and honor our veterans.

Because one day is not enough, we shared inspiring military stories on our social media accounts all month long, and dedicated the cover of the November issue of Guideposts magazine to veteran Randy Dexter, who is healing from PTSD with the help of a therapy dog. You may have received an e-mail from us or clicked on one of the invitations on our site to help veterans. Wherever you heard about Veterans Awareness Month, you responded with great generosity.

So far, you have donated almost 5,000 Guideposts magazine subscriptions to members of our military! And we’re still tabulating your contributions to our Military Outreach ministry, which provides everything from inspirational booklets to Christmas cards to both veterans and active duty military all year long.

All we can say is, “Thank you.” Thank you for your generosity and for taking the time to offer hope and inspiration to our veterans.

Since Norman Vincent Peale and his wife, Ruth, founded Guideposts in 1945, Guideposts has worked to support the military.  Today Guideposts’ military outreach team works with chaplains in the military and the Veteran’s Administration to distribute booklets, copies of Guideposts magazine, and Daily Guideposts, and thousands of personally signed Christmas cards to help uplift, inspire and sustain our troops stationed at military bases around the world.

Your contributions have continued an important legacy. Your generosity matters.

And it’s not too late! We’re still accepting donations. We hope you’ll join us. Click here to learn how to support our veterans. Thank you!
