Icons are God’s word written on wood with images. They are often called “windows into heaven” and “aids in prayer.” When viewed with contemplation, they help transport us into the spiritual realm.

I’m Deborah Anderson. During a very stressful time in my life, God led me to a calling of iconography. Through many years, I’ve had times of deep joy in answering that call, working to share the vision of the Gospel in images. The stylized simplicity of icons speaks to the interior spaces of a heart searching for God.

Now you can watch a close up of the Sinai Christ face emerge for you here in three minutes of time.

This image holds in beautiful tension foundational truth of Christianity—dark and light, Earth and Heaven, time and eternity, law and grace, judgment and mercy. These truths are seamlessly joined together in Jesus the Christ, who is ruler of all.
