Bookstore Cat Boswell lives in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, and inspired the name of the store his owners operate, Boswell’s Books.
This celebrity cat has gained international fame as Grumpy Cat. Before she was even a year old, she had appeared on numerous national TV programs, had a book deal and was voted Most Influential Cat of 2012 by MSNBC. In 2014, she starred in her first movie on Lifetime: Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever.

At a firehouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, an orange-and-white cat named Carlow takes his job as firehouse cat very seriously. The firefighters of Engine 22 Ladder 13 rescued Carlow in the spring of 2011 when they responded to a call in the Bronx and found a tiny, dirty kitten stuck in one of the tires of a car.

Bike courier Rudi Saldia and his able feline assistant–a striped tabby named MJ, short for Mary Jane–cover an average of twenty-five miles on two wheels on their rounds every day. While Saldia stays put on his seat, MJ likes to take in different views and will switch back and forth from one shoulder to the other and occasionally drape herself around his neck.

A three-legged brown tabby cat named Sisco from East Belfast, Ireland came to be known as Reverend Cassidy in the 1980s, when the Universal Life Church announced that it would ordain anyone who wanted to serve both God and His people. With his official certificate of ordination in hand from the church, the furry preacher was fully qualified to preside over weddings, deliver eulogies at funerals, and baptize members of his flock, although this last task was the least favorite part of his job owing to a natural distate for water.

Nora the Piano Cat, who lives in Philadelphia with her human personal assistans, artist Burnell Yow! and piano teacher Betsy Alexander, became famous via the Internet. In early 2007, the couple decided to upload a video to YouTube of their rescue cat who practiced the piano every day. Within months, the video had almost eight million views. She’s now authored two books.
Japanese toy company Bandai hired a dainty Bengal cat named Millie to guard its most precious toys at its Southampton warehouse in England in 2012. She’s doing a stellar job protecting Alien Creation Transporters and Power Rangers against dangerous intruders, both rodent and human.

Back in the fall of 2009, a longhaired orange cat by the name of Jasper had his theatrical debut at the ripe old age of fourteen when Breakfast at Tiffany’s played at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London. His understudy, a white cat named Bob with a fluffy orange tail, went on in his place when Jasper wasn’t feeling up to snuff one night.
