Answer Your Dog’s Questions

Sitting down for a heart-to-heart with a spaniel and a golden retriever

Peggy's dog Kelly in the snow.

Curious cats everywhere had their day last week, with Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day. So, although there is no official day, I thought it was only fair that I answer my dogs’ questions!

I sat down with them in my big green chair and asked them what was on their minds:

Peggy's spaniel Kelly in the snow.Ike: I like curling up with you in your big green chair. Sometimes I hear you talking, very quietly. I know you’re not talking to me or Kelly, but no one else is around. Who are you talking to?

Me: Ike, that’s when I’m saying my prayers. I’m talking to God. Having you and Kelly beside me in my big green chair helps me feel relaxed and calm.

That way, I can focus more clearly on what I want to talk to God about. I think about all the things I’m grateful for, and I thank God.

I also think about areas in my life where I need help and guidance. I can ask Him anything. I ask him to be with friends and family who are sick and hurting. I ask him to direct my steps.

And, I want you to know, that I also pray for you and Kelly. God listens. He cares about all his creatures, great and small. You and Kelly are wonderful blessings in my life.

What do you think your dog would like to ask you? What would you answer?
