Why Get to Know Jesus?

Norman Vincent Peale shares 3 reasons to strengthen your relationship with Christ.

Jesus Christ's outstretched healing hand.

Jesus Christ is the most exciting person who ever lived, the most lovable man who ever walked the earth, the greatest brain that ever entered into human history and the most incredible personality who ever came among us.

The more I see people getting to know Jesus, as the real person who lived and walked among us, the more I find them going to Him. There are several reasons for this:

1. Jesus loves you.
No one loves you like Jesus does. His whole reason for coming among us was love: “For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son…” (John 3:16). Jesus loves each individual; he died for each one of us. That’s love!

2. You need Jesus in your human experience.
He tells you that you are better than you think you are. Jesus tells you that you are positively wonderful. You are a child of God! “So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith” (Galatians 3:26). He tells you that you can be anything you will yourself to be. You can do “all things through Christ” (Philippians 4:13). You don’t need to be defeated and depressed. Listen to Jesus!

3. Jesus gives you the power to overcome any tragedy, any difficulty, any problem in life. Whatever you are facing, turn to Jesus and he will give you the power to overcome. There is unlimited power in knowing Jesus, when you really get to know him. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).

How well do you know Jesus?
