The New Year is here, and we don’t know what the future holds. We can plan all we want, but the Lord is in control.
The day I took this photograph, my son, husband and I were heading out of town for my son to interview for a potential college scholarship.
On the way, we passed a legendary landmark of the Athens area…the Iron Horse. It is a massive 2000-pound horse looking over a large field.
The horse has been through a lot. It originally was designed and placed on the campus of the University of Georgia back in the 1950’s. The students did not like it and tried to set it on fire, painted it and did several other pranks.
The Iron Horse was removed from the campus and later placed in a field where it is well taken care of. You can Google the Iron Horse and find out all the details of this neat story.
But my story continues with the reason we were headed out of town. My son interviewed for a scholarship that could allow him to go out-of-town starting his freshman year of college.
If he does not get enough scholarships, he may end up going to a local university in town for his first year. His future is unknown, and I have prayed the Lord would open and close doors. The Lord knows right where He wants my son to attend college.
I don’t worry about the future because I trust the Lord will work out all the details.
My favorite verse Romans 8:28 states:
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Happy New Year!
