Expressing daily gratitude for the simple things in life makes every day feel like Thanksgiving. For example, being grateful for the friend who checks on us in good and bad times, the good news from the doctor or finding a silver lining even when the news is not good.
Just this week, while at the tennis club, one of the players walked onto the outside court in awe of the how large the moon appeared. He was genuinely thankful for having such a beautiful experience. There are many small and big things in life that make us feel good, appreciated and loved…things to be thankful for.
We should convey our appreciation to those we have known for a long time and those we meet along our journey. When we thank others for their service, kindness, generosity, friendship, help, support and so on, we bring them happiness.

We can thank our co-workers for their collaborative and hardworking spirit when so often the workplace can foster competition and negativity. Thanking a friend or neighbor who is concerned about our wellbeing affirms their kindhearted action and ensures that we don’t take them for granted.
And we can all give thanks to the men and women who defend our country, the soldiers serving today and the veterans who have done so in the past. As the psalmist said, “Let us come to Him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to Him.” God is good to us every day! What are you most thankful today? Please share with us.
