Most of my professional life in ministry has been spent leading, speaking, or preaching. When this opportunity arose to write a weekly blog I thought hmm… this is a new platform for me. Then I realized my goal and focus could remain the same which is “to speak from my heart to the heart of others.”
Why take on this task? Blogging will give me the chance to engage others and learn from them.
My focus will be about people, experiences and events that impact life, influence faith and shape our prayers. I will reflect on everyday moments through the eyes of faith and prayer.
This is why my blog is titled Life, Faith & Prayer.
However, there will be times when I will write about other things. My intent is not to bore you but if it happens, please be the first to tell me. I am committed to adding value to your life.
My hope is to encourage you to live with meaning, in the best and worst of times. Your questions, comments and views are important to me. No one enjoys a one-way dialogue.
Let me introduce myself. These 5 things provide a glimpse of who I am:
1. The Lord is my Savior and Friend.
2. I preached my first sermon at 15 years old.
3. My wife of 33 years is my high school sweetheart.
4. Everything I know about being a parent I learned from my two children.
5. Playing tennis, reading and prayer keep me sane.
One of my favorite quotes is from John Maxwell, “Most people overestimate what they can do in a day, and underestimate what they can do in a lifetime.”
My prayer is, “Lord help me to make the most of the gift of life by serving You and others.”
What is your favorite quote or your prayer? Please share it below. I look forward to our journey together and learning from our conversations about Life, Faith and Prayer.
